Coloured contact lenses - Alcon, Annual (1 year), Bausch and Lomb, CooperVision, TopVue, Quarterly
Annual lenses are durable lenses with a usability time-frame of 365 days. This type of lens is almost exclusively reserved for coloured lenses. Though they last a full year, they require a lot of care and attention. Clean and store the lenses using a high-quality multi-purpose contact lens solution (don't use peroxide!). Every 5 days, repeat the regular cleaning process and store these lenses in a fresh solution. And don’t forget to replace the lens case in which you’re keeping these lenses every three months. If these lenses are not given proper care, there is no guarantee they will remain comfortable or healthy.
Quarterly lenses are durable lenses with a usability time-frame of 90 days. This type of lens is something you'll usually see among coloured lenses. They are very cost-effective but require a higher degree of maintenance and care. If they fall within the category of coloured lenses, it's commonly assumed you won't be wearing them every day during their 90-day lifespan and that'll you'll carefully clean, disinfect, and store them. If they fall under the category of normal contact lenses, they should be specifically prescribed by an eye care specialist. With lenses that need extra care -e.g. quarterly lenses - be sure to always follow the instructions of your eye care specialist.
