I've been using contact lenses for the past 18 years. There is no comparison in term of comfort and vision. For the past 5 years, I have been struggling with keratoconus on one eye and intense dryness (due to Sjogren). I had to switch to daily lenses and get the most expensive one on the market to help with the dryness. Unfortunately, if like me you have a keratoconus your eye has a weird shape. I have been using the Acuvue Hydroluxe but I couldn't get a clear vision and I kept trying to reposition my lense thought the day. After some research, I found that silicone hydrogel is indeed the best to keep the eye hydrated however after 15 mins the hydration is as similar as hydrogel lenses. After several trial, I found the holy grail. PROS: * I do not feel those lenses they are very comfortable. * I can wear them the whole day! Hydration level is amazing. * The toric lens is so far THE BEST I have tried for astigmatism! * WIth Alensa I pay around 20 to 25 pounds cheaper for a 90 pack lens CONS: * Before putting them in, make sure to check that they are not upside down.
I recently tested 5 different daily lenses (astigmatism). I found B&L Biotrue and AV moist the most comfortable as I don’t get on with silicone hydrogel lenses. The Biotrue have the best vision I have ever had from a contact lense and are very stable in the eye, they also have a higher dk/t than the moist. I can also wear them all day without them drying out. Great lenses.
