These monthly contact lenses are made from a silicone-hydrogel material and have been designed to correct astigmatism with an added cylinder and axis value. Air Optix plus Hydraglyde for Astigmatism have a very high oxygen permeability, and are tinted in a light blue colour for easier handling.

The design of these contacts guarantees a comfortable fit and a stable position in the eye, without any unwanted rotation which could impair the vision quality. You’ll be sure that your vision stays sharp and clear throughout the day.

Air Optix plus Hydraglyde for Astigmatism are monthly lenses which have been approved for extended wear by Alcon. However, before wearing lenses for an extended period, please consult your optician.

Advanced technology

Air Optix plus Hydraglyde for Astigmatism toric lenses have been treated with two innovative technologies. The HydraGlyde® Moisture Matrix technology keeps the lenses lubricated and comfortable. It prevents the lenses from drying out. The second technology is called SmartShield ™ Technology. It helps create a protective layer on the lenses to ensure the material stays clean. This significantly reduces the percentage of impurities and deposits on the lens.

Regarding the oxygen permeability of these lenses, are you concerned about the difference between values indicated on our website and those on the box? No worries, they are completely the same! On our website, we use an industry-standard number showing oxygen permeability in relation to thickness of the lens -- shown as (Dk/t). This is a value calculated by dividing the oxygen permeability of the lens (Dk) by the thickness of the lens (t). Most manufacturers provide a (Dk/t), which is why we've chosen to use it for all our products. However, your box of lenses may only show the (Dk) value. This just means that your box is showing the base value. It also means that there is, in fact, no difference between the number we show and the one that's on your box.
